'Confined' is this week's Illustration Friday theme. My offering is a net full of fishies - hope they escape - there are a few holes! Acrylic and oil pastel on mountboard.
Wonderful painting Caroline, vibrant colours and a really lively feeling. Your work just gets better & better. Did you use net to print the effect? See you'll have us all guessing now!
You sent ME an explaination of how you did the netting via email before I saw this post. So I think you meant to send it to someone else. ;-) Nice to have the heads up! Thanks.
Thank you everyone for your kind comments! As many of you are asking how the netting was done - here's the trick: take one supermarket net bag (mine held onions!), paint over with undiluted white acrylic, position over painting, cover with a clean sheet of paper and rub gently hoping it won't smudge - hey presto fishing net - reposition as necessary!
This is gorgeous Caroline. The colours are really lovely but like you I hope they escape...haha. Very impressed with the linocut too. I have decapitated quite a few things when I have been linocutting. Clever you to find something so lovely to cover the deed.
Caroline, a really wonderful peace of art. Thank you for sharing this with us. I have an award for you on my blog. Feel free to pass it on. If you do not want that, then just enjoy it! Greetings, Inge
Wonderful painting. How did you get the netting affect?
ReplyDeleteCarolne, OMG! I love this one. Really I do. How big is this and are you going to put it in your Etsy shop?
ReplyDeleteI love your comment. I wholeheatedly agree with you. You and I will have a fabulous time in both art and book stores.
Do you know that when I was younger I never did studies. I painted directly and just let go.
Now I have to do at least a sketch.
This is brilliant Caroline! I think I know how you did the netting. I never would have thought of it...clever you!
