Here's a portrait of my Ted, now in his 50's! I hesitate to call him flawed.. well loved and worn, more like! Perhaps even Wabi Sabi? If you've never heard of Wabi Sabi do take a look at my previous post for an explanation of this Japanese aesthetic.
It often knows the expression of a difficult word of Japan.
ReplyDeleteThe bear's stuffed animal might be very valued and it play well.
Lovely bear...I like those toys being with us for the whole life, this kind of"flawed" is not a bad one !
ReplyDeleteI love this bear! I have a special fondness for old well-loved stuffed toys... and this fellow is just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI like your snail for "climbed," too.
Thanks for your kind comment and have a terrific day!
Denise
i think he's beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteNice job !! well done, I really like it
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely bear! I can imagine how much you love him...after 50 years!!! a beautiful and special bear...not flawed at all!
ReplyDeleteHe looks young for his age! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe best kind of friends are the ones with a few flaws...
ReplyDeleteyour work is gorgeous BTW!
I never really had a teddy bear, that I kept for that long. Lots of cherished memories.
ReplyDeleteGreat job with this, great rendering and line work!
ReplyDeletewow great drawing! the details...amazing.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous portrait of a well loved friend! My daughter has a matted-down stuffed dog, but she wouldn't trade it for the world. All the matted fur represents years of love. Beautiful pencil work -- and I loved reading about Wabi Sabi. Your cat portrait is amazing, and truly reflects Ed Young!
ReplyDeleteA most wonderful sketch of Ted :D He looks very loved!
ReplyDeleteThanks all, for your lovely comments! Ted will be very pleased to learn that he has been much admired today!
ReplyDeleteAw...sweet teddy bear. He's so well loved! Reminds of the dog my son has. Has slept with him every night for 11 years but don't tell him I told you that;)
ReplyDeletefabulous detail! he does look well loved, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter has a purple monkey that's beyond recognition. I don't know how many times we've sewn his nose back on. Really wonderful illustration and excellent details.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I missed this last week, but I really like this drawing--the textures and lines, understated, but very clean.
ReplyDeleteOh he warms my heart! Lovely drawing and tribute.
