I've known a few hunters extraordinaire just like Marlon--they turn into jungle beasts at the drop of a feather or twitch of a tail...You've captured his fierce intensity with great humor!
What a great idea and fantastic illustration to go along with it! Kinda reminds me of the fable about killing two flies with one swat...or something like that...anyway Great work Caroline!
Marlon needs to wear a collar with a little bell, to warn off birds and mice! :-) My aunt had a mighty hunter cat like Marlon, and that was the only way to keep the birds safe! :-)
Thanks to everyone for you comments - love to hear from you! Just in case anyone is worried about the murder scene - I've declared that the little canary is, as Bella, suggested, just playing possum!
oh no! death by kitty cat... I love everything about this, your colours are great the stiffness of the bird feet, the birdcage and all of it's details, the cat's eyes and well, everything! :)
Pardon my ignorance but I did a search on Marlon the claw!hahaha I just wonder how he would fare against tweety bird.:P And I like how you painted this, the colors add to the action!
Wonderful image Caroline. It is so perfect for the IF theme. He has an equal with one of our cats too.
Enjoyed the batik and ceramics pictures. I can well believe it is amazingly difficult to throw pots. The experienced makers make it look so effortless. Keep up the good work.
Caroline I didn't know that about the p and q but I am really interested to learn that. My father was a printer at one time and three of my brothers are printers. I will now show off my new knowledge to them.
Fun illustration! And what a good name for him.
ReplyDeleteHe'll probably leave them for you on your pillow as a 'gift' :-)

Horribly wonderful image, reminds me of our neighbors cat who I jokingly call Hannibal... just a tortuous beast who kills innocent critters at random.
ReplyDeleteHow are you doing Caroline?

Love Renee xoxo
