'Old-fashioned Remedy'

Here is my offering for this week's Illustration Friday theme of 'Old-fashioned'. Lavender is an old-fashioned cottage garden flower and has been used for centuries as a remedy for various ailments as well as for its fragrance. My little watercolour illustrates an old-fashioned remedy - you may have to click to enlarge if you'd like to read the writing on the label!

  5. I love the delicacy of these little paintings!

How timely for me as well because two friends sent me fresh lavender last week! One from France/Holland and one from California. Marja splits her time between the two places, France and Holland:)

Both of your illos would make lovely cards ♥

  6. Aaaaaahhh! I had lavender tea last week. This morning I had pomegranate tea. I also had ginger tea and chamomile tea. Now my body feels like a sachet bag!

Lovely watercolor Caroline. I still would like to exchange drawings with you. Tsup!

  7. Your sketches are marvelous of the lavender. Isn't it sad that I am sensitive to lavender. I like the smell but too much of it sends me into allergic reactions. I would love to see the French countryside full of blooms. What a sight that would be.

  8. Oh, Caroline, your little lavender and sachet paintings are so pretty. I love lavender and grow a large patch of it in my front garden. I bathe with lavender soap and love lavender body mist after my shower. Do I like lavender? YES! Am I old fashioned? Probably.

  9. Really love your illustration! Besides heather , lavender grows here like a weed. The fragrance is so intense some days that it is very close to unpleasant...Your illustration is very sweet.
