Had a weekend of hassle with overflowing water tanks, but every cloud has a silver lining.. our plumbers harvested the coconuts from the palm tree! Now just gotta put de lime in de coconut!
Oh yeah baby! Put de lime in de coconut and shake it all about!! (A big favourite with our grandsons, that song. Accompanied by mad wiggling of behinds!)
oh! I will just eat them directly from the shell like we did when we were kids.
Hey! I know how to climb a coconut tree like that man! Honest! I climbed ours when I was a kid. I don't think I can even go up three feet if I do that now!
In many parts of India the coconut tree is considered as wish-fulfilling divine tree - Kalpavriksha...because everything it produces from fruit, oil, coir, dried thatch... serves human needs. The specimens in your photos look quite delicious!
No, seriously. For a moment, I thought you had painted some beautiful flowers on the ends of those things. Lucky you that you have these growing in your backyard!
The first photo looks like a sculpture. I love the colors and forms. I am always amazed that people can climb trees like that. How can you tell if they are ripe?? I guess you have to live there to learn this. Don't forget the rum when you put the lime in the coconut. ;)
Wow! We all share the common, having lots of coconuts. Caroline, My coconut tree also have a lot of fruits but I have plucked all them down! Enjoy yours!
Ah, Love that. Enjoy!!! You are right, there is a silver lining in every cloud...xxoo
