'Duet'
Watercolour paint and pencils with gouache ©Caroline Soer 2011
It's been several weeks since I took part in Illustration Friday. :( Here's a last minute offering for Illustration Friday's 'Duet' which I started happily enough in watercolour, but it wasn't long before I'd made a bit of a hash of it (must be out of practice), so rescued it with my trusty watercolour pencils and gouache!
Great to see your work again Caroline, I've missed it. I love this - it made me smile. I must admit I'm struggling to do anything creative at the moment - my blog has been truly neglected - must be something in the atmosphere!
ReplyDeleteI think it's great and can't see any sign of "hash"ing it up.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! This is just divine. There are two in there that look just like our cats Butterscotch (Tabby) and Gabriel (Tuxedo). The individual expressions are priceless. HA! I love it.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun piece and I agree, no signs of "hash" here.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I've not mixed different mediums like that - it looks great together.
ReplyDeletefilled with personality!!! i kept wondering which one i would choose to be!!!
ReplyDeleteit's always a bright day when you've painted, caroline.

ReplyDeleteWell your hash turned out delicious!!
ReplyDeleteI see Tia, of course. Do you still have another kitty besides poor Bob who got away? Or was it Charlie?

Aaah, these are the cat's meow! I would love to hear them singing altogether. What a harmony that would be! Adorable kitties, Caroline. And I agree with everyone else. I see no hash here.
ReplyDeleteI love this!! I am sure that Miss Tia approves:) The looks on their faces is wonderful....made me smile.
ReplyDeleteWell, this is going back a ways! But you know how when you're reading a post it suggests older posts beneath it? I saw this gaggle of cats and had to come see. And they are great! This was before I joined IF. They're all so wonderful and different with their terrific cat expressions.
