Illustration Friday - Confined


'Confined' is this week's Illustration Friday theme. My offering is a net full of fishies - hope they escape - there are a few holes! Acrylic and oil pastel on mountboard.

    Do you know that when I was younger I never did studies. I painted directly and just let go.

    Now I have to do at least a sketch.

  18. Thank you everyone for your kind comments! As many of you are asking how the netting was done - here's the trick: take one supermarket net bag (mine held onions!), paint over with undiluted white acrylic, position over painting, cover with a clean sheet of paper and rub gently hoping it won't smudge - hey presto fishing net - reposition as necessary!

  23. This is gorgeous Caroline. The colours are really lovely but like you I hope they escape...haha. Very impressed with the linocut too. I have decapitated quite a few things when I have been linocutting. Clever you to find something so lovely to cover the deed.
