'Return' ©Caroline Soer
I've decided to keep this illustration up for another week as it fits both this and last week's Illustration Friday words 'return' and 'vocal' so well! Here the baby birds are being quite definitely vocal awaiting the return of their parents to the nest!
They are sooo adorable - love this piece.
ReplyDeleteWonderfully detailed! Love the bits of paper in the nest! And the birds are so fluffy & cute!
ReplyDeleteLovely! So charming with their little beaks opening and waiting.
ReplyDeletedo i see a partially concealed peace sign in that fine nest?
ReplyDeletei love what you do with watercolors--always a tweet

ReplyDeleteDelightful piece! You did an amazing job on the nest. I love the hidden/woven fortunes and words. This could work for this week's word as well....vocal!

These are darling baby birds and I hope their mommy returns soon. They look hungry! Happy Easter to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteLove this Caroline, so appropriate as the birds are just starting to make their nests.
ReplyDeleteYour details are beautiful as usual. I was trying to read the print on the scraps of paper in the nest but couldn't get it large enough (or maybe I need to go find a pair of reading glasses!) I love slipping little bits of personal knowledge or history into a picture, especially when I've created it for someone in particular.
ReplyDeleteIt's a perfect double entry... return and vocal! Totally sweet birds but the nest is just wow! So great. I love the bits of feather just barely there.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous piece, Caroline! I'd not yet ever seen it, so it's super that you posted it..I hope you and yours had a wonderful Easter celebration!
